Ragdolly Anna in... Norwegian?!

A curious re-imagining of the Ragdolly Anna theme tune

I’ve probably mentioned, on numerous occasions, that not only is Ragdolly Anna one of my favourite children’s television programmes, but it also contains one of the finest theme tunes every committed to film. Thankfully, I’m not hear to bang that particular drum again. Instead, I wanted to share something I recently found on YouTube.

Although there’s relatively little footage of Ragdolly Anna in its original form online, there are several episodes of the series from its run in Norway. And it turns out they decided to re-record the vocals for the theme tune. Whilst the enduring melody is still there, the lyrics don’t seem to flow quite as playfully as the original British version. Nonetheless, it’s an interesting little curiosity which you may find interesting.

What’s even more intriguing is that Ragdolly Anna was also shown in Malaysia, so perhaps, just perhaps, there’s a version sung entirely in Malay…
